Role: Physical Therapist - Student

Position: Full-time - 8-10 weeks; Final Affiliation

Experience: Current PT student, must have completed 1 Ortho affiliation by start of final affiliation
Skills: Active learner, strong interest in functional manual therapy

Requirements: CPR/First Aid certificate, dance/athletic background

The clinical affiliation here at MVMT Physical Therapy is a formalized clinical experience with a specific curriculum of clinical concepts, orthopedic rehabilitation, exercise science and manual treatment techniques. Because we serve an elite-level population of performers, the clinical experience is rather observational in nature (think "Hands Off" observation with your CI); we try to incorporate students into manual treatments with patients once we are both confident in their skills. The expectation is that the student will not carry a full caseload by the end of the experience, but they should be able to manage consecutive patients in a timely manner. Students will immediately be engaged in a collaborative relationship with their CI to challenge their clinical reasoning process and designing specialized treatment plans. Qualified applicants should have a strong interest in Dance Medicine, likely have dance training, and/or have a strong interest in athletics, all utilizing the IPA FMT framework.
